Adoption Reunion Picnic at Legendary Lodge

Thank you to everyone who came to our event and made it a wonderful celebration.  We had adoptees from the 1950s all the way to this year help us celebrate.  We also had Bishop George Leo Thomas and members of our Board of Directors as well as adoptive couples and supporters.  We so appreciate all the help and the wonderful show of support!!

CSSM celebrates 60 years with picnic 2013_10_CSSMT60th_Cat Legendary Lodge

In celebration of 60 years serving in the state, Catholic Social Services of Montana held an adoption reunion event at Legendary Lodge, the diocesan summer camp property on Salmon Lake. The reunion, which welcomed birth families, adoptive families, those who were adopted and anyone who has worked with the organization, included a mass celebrated by Bishop George Leo Thomas, a lunch in the camp’s main lodge and games for the children. A two-part film project was shown, titled “Then and Now: 60 Years with Catholic Social Services of Montana.” The film, which features interviews with the organization staff, along with birth and adoptive families, is available for viewing on the Diocese of Helena’s YouTube page: Continuing the year of celebration, Catholic Social Services of Montana will hold the Celebrating Families and Founders banquet, Nov. 23, at the Gateway Center in Helena.
